The first comment says a lot:

“The author is right. Poor people should just stop participating in most first tier capitalism relying mostly on local products, and primarily support a secondary level of commerce (thrift stores, garage sales). I mean, why the hell should we support the same people who have been manipulating financial policy to keep the poor poor and the rich richer. And before anyone goes whining about “Class Warfare” just keep in mind that ever since this country started following randian economics the disparities between the rich and poor have only gotten worse. Not to mention the effective tax rate on the rich going drastically from what it was thirty years ago and what that has ultimately done to this country. There is a class war, and it’s being perpetrated on the poor by the wealthy and all the crying about “class war , boo hoo” is really only whining about the poor fighting back.
    Hypno”

So in order to be “poor” you have to be a character from the Grapes of Wrath?? Eat from a dumpster? Why, just so National Review readers can feel superior?
