Even the immigrants get it…

June 1, 2011

Lolita Mancheno-Smoak, an immigrant from Ecuador who once dreamed of becoming her country’s president, has found an unlikely home in the tea party movement.

When she launched her campaign for county school board last week at Brion’s Grille in Fairfax, Va., she was not alone — flanked by immigrants from Europe, Asia and Latin America who have joined tea party groups in the face of unrelenting criticism that the movement is isolationist and anti-immigrant.

Mancheno-Smoak, who started attending tea party meetings in February, is one of several immigrants running for local office in Virginia under the tea party banner.

Immigrants who understand that leaving their semi-socialist crap holes with government politicians corrupted by power and money running every aspect of their lives to come to America don’t exactly WANT to see their new home turn into…. a semi-socialist crap hole with goverment politcians corrupted by power and money running every aspect of their lives….

Meh. Perhaps they’re just self-loathing minorities and “immigrants” who don’t realize what is best for them and that all of the promises of the progressive left are really in their best interest….

Or perhaps not….

“If the immigrants understood what was happening in America there would be a revolt against those politicians,” said Muñoz, who became a citizen in 2008. “Obama’s talking one way and doing another and the Hispanics do not know about that hanky-panky.”

He has launched a state political action committee, TitoPAC, and a federal 527 called the Conservative Hispanic Coalition, to fund his run for state Senate.

“Why do immigrants leave their country? Because they don’t have opportunity and they don’t have freedom, because politicians control everything,” he said. “We come to America and we are going to have the same crap? Then we might as well go back there.”

So let me translate… If an immigrant becomes/is a conservative, then they MUST know better/more than anyone who isn’t a conservative?? Um, okaaaaay.

“Why do immigrants leave their country? Because they don’t have opportunity and they don’t have freedom, because politicians control everything,”

Um, maybe, just maybe, many leave their countries NOT because the “politicians” control everything, but because corporations do, and opportunity to improve their lot does not exist. Extreme poverty because of corruption, unending war, drugs, etc. are not some political construct. The implication that Obama is doing the same is the lowest form of idiocy.

What does “dreamed of becoming her country’s president” have to do with anything? I can probably find a significant portion of 5 year olds that do the same.

Finally, if she is in the Tea Party, she’ll darken the skin of the tiny rallies by the barest fraction, since we know how many blacks, Hispanics and Asians attend tea party rallies, huh?

Related topic: Tea Partier Rand Paul, you know, that group that loves the “next time we come armed”, or “ballots or bullets”, etc., had this to say:

“I’m not for profiling people on the color of their skin, or on their religion, but I would take into account where they’ve been traveling and perhaps, you might have to indirectly take into account whether or not they’ve been going to radical political speeches by religious leaders. It wouldn’t be that they are Islamic. But if someone is attending speeches from someone who is promoting the violent overthrow of our government, that’s really an offense that we should be going after — they should be deported or put in prison.”

Let’s start with you, huh, Rand? Libertarian, my big white seating area…

“Um, maybe, just maybe, many leave their countries NOT because the “politicians” control everything, but because corporations do, and opportunity to improve their lot does not exist.”

Um, Mike. The corporations, being all corporationy, only control everything BECAUSE THE POLITICIANS ARE CORRUPT and ALLOW THEM TO. Because the politicians… wait for it… CONTROL EVERYTHING. The politicians aren’t worried about opportunities, or the free market, but rewarding crony capitalists. Without this, the corporations don’t have some mystical army that comes and an controls everything and anything.

Extreme poverty because of corruption, unending war, drugs, etc. are not some political construct.

Um. Yeah they are. The more power the government gets, the easier it is for fewer and fewer people to control more and more of the populace, allowing for corruption to affect all that many more people, to allow every mistake and intentional harm to reverberate throughout an entire nation.

Federalism based on limited government. It’s not just for great-great-great-grandma anymore…

The implication that Obama is doing the same is the lowest form of idiocy.”

To argue that Obama isn’t continuing the growth of the federal government and teaching an entirely new generation of Americans to suck off the teet of the government which leeches its wealth from its own (and the future citizens by borrowing) is not idiocy…. its insane…
